Bryce Conrad

President and Chief Executive Officer

Bryce

Bryce Conrad has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Hydro Ottawa Group since 2011. Under his leadership, Hydro Ottawa has become one of the most profitable, innovative and customer-oriented utilities in Canada, regularly winning awards and accolades for customer service and innovation. Since 2012, Hydro Ottawa has tripled its renewable generation, making it the largest municipally owned generator of clean, green energy in Ontario.

Prior to joining Hydro Ottawa, Bryce served as Assistant Deputy Minister – Program Operations at Infrastructure Canada, where he managed the implementation of the $4 billion Infrastructure Stimulus Fund, overseeing the selection and management of 4,000 projects that created more than $10 billion in economic activity. He was also responsible for the oversight and administration of the Building Canada Fund, the Green Infrastructure Fund and the Gas Tax agreements with provinces and municipalities.

An active community champion, Bryce served on the Board of Directors for The Ottawa Hospital Foundation, and on the Board of Directors for United Way/Centraide Ottawa.

Bryce has extensive governance experience, serving on the Board of Directors for industry associations including Electricity Canada, the Ontario Energy Association, and the Institute on Governance. In 2022, Bryce served as the Board Chair of the Electricity Distributors Association. Upon conclusion of his term as Chair, he transitioned to a Board member role, a position he held previously. He has been actively serving as the Vice-Chair of The MEARIE Group since 2022.

Bryce is fluently bilingual, and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Queen’s University, a Master of Public Administration from Carleton University, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Ottawa.

Angela Collier

EVP, Finance and CFO

Angela

As EVP, Finance and CFO, Angela Collier leads the finance, treasury, regulatory, strategic sourcing and logistics groups for the Hydro Ottawa Group and its subsidiaries. She is a key member of the Executive Management Team and advises them and the Board of Directors on all strategic financial, regulatory, strategic sourcing and logistics matters, including financial reporting, budget management, forecasting, and securing new funding.

Angela has over twenty-five years of financial experience and over fifteen years in the utility industry. Prior to joining Hydro Ottawa, Angela worked in public practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton.

Angela is a Chartered Professional Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Saint Francis Xavier University. She also holds a Masters Certificate in Energy Sector Leadership from the Schulich School of Business at York University.

Michelle Desroches

EVP, Legal and Corporate Secretary

Michelle

As EVP, Legal and Corporate Secretary, Michelle Desroches is a strategic advisor to Hydro Ottawa Group, its subsidiaries and boards of directors. She directs all legal and governance services, oversees outside counsel, and ensures that the enterprise is appropriately represented during legal interactions with external stakeholders.

Prior to joining Hydro Ottawa in 2019 as Associate General Counsel, Michelle served as Senior Legal Counsel with Brookfield Renewable. Earlier in her career, she practiced corporate and commercial law with Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP. Michelle, who is fluently bilingual, holds both Bachelor of Common Law and Bachelor of Science (Hons. Biochemistry) degrees from the University of Ottawa.

Julie Lupinacci

Executive Vice President, Customer Experience, Communications, Sustainability and Generation

Julie

As EVP, Customer Experience, Communications & Sustainability and Generation, Julie Lupinacci is responsible for developing and implementing the customer strategy, transforming the total customer experience, and guiding the direction of the business in terms of customer needs. In her role, Julie leads the Customer Service, Communications and Public Affairs, and Conservation and Demand Management teams. She is responsible for the customer service, marketing, product development, external communications, public affairs, corporate reputation, and brand equity function.

With more than 15 years in Customer Care, Sales and Marketing, Julie has a wide background in business including project management, customer/vendor relations, international partner program management, procurement, sales, marketing, and program development.

Julie is fluently bilingual and holds a Masters of Business Administration from University of Ottawa and is a Certified Sales Professional (CSP).

Marco Dubé

EVP, People & Culture

As EVP, People & Culture, Marco Dubé is responsible for providing strategic human resources (HR) direction, leadership and advice for organizational and HR planning, management and organizational development, training, staffing, employee and labour relations, performance planning, and change management. In his role, Marco oversees human resources programs and initiatives in Organization Development (including culture and alignment), Labour Relations, Compensation and Benefits, and Health, Safety and Business Continuity.

Prior to joining Hydro Ottawa, Marco served as Chief Transformation Officer and Executive Vice-President, People and Culture at CBC/Radio-Canada. Over the course of his 29-year career with the public broadcaster, he held a variety of leadership roles in news, programming, regional production, communications, human resources, and corporate strategy.

Marco holds a Bachelor of Arts from Laurentian University, a certificate in Social Communication from Saint Paul University, and a Master of Communication from the University of Ottawa. He also holds a certificate of Management Excellence from Harvard Business School as well as a certificate of Strategic Human Resources Leadership from Cornell University.

Mark Fernandes

EVP, Digital Transformation and CIO

As EVP, Digital Transformation and CIO, Mark Fernandes provides vision and leadership for the development and implementation of technology initiatives that support the advancement of Hydro Ottawa’s business strategy and priorities. In his role, Mark oversees Technology Planning and Governance, Cybersecurity, Grid Technology, Enterprise Architecture, System Development and Integration and IT/OT Operations.

Prior to joining Hydro Ottawa, Mark worked in the business and consumer software industry for over 16 years managing IT Strategy, Operations, e-Commerce, Web Development, Cloud Infrastructure models, and mergers and acquisitions.

Mark holds a Bachelor of Arts with majors in Commerce and Sociology from the University of Bombay. He has also completed his post-graduate studies in Information Technology from the Information Technology Institute Ottawa and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

Adnan Khokhar

EVP, Energy Solutions & Infrastructure

As EVP, Energy Solutions & Infrastructure, Adnan Khokhar leads the energy services, infrastructure management and business development functions at Hydro Ottawa. This includes the delivery of a full range of expert energy related services to the commercial sector.

He has held senior leadership roles in marketing, sales, supply chain and product management. He supports our corporate goals and initiatives by driving focused strategies that are coupled with superior operational execution. Prior to joining Hydro Ottawa, Adnan has worked in the telecom and networking equipment industries for Ciena, Nortel Networks and AT&T Canada.

Adnan is a Chartered Professional Accountant, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University and an MBA from Queen’s University

Laurie Heuff

Vice President, Distribution System Planning and Asset Management

Laurie Heuff was appointed to the Hydro Ottawa Limited Board effective January 24, 2025. As Vice President, Distribution System Planning & Asset Management, Laurie leads our efforts in reliable and efficient distribution system operations, long-term energy planning, and innovative solutions for the future. She provides strategic direction for engineering, asset management, and program management, and champions the integration of innovative technologies and sustainable practices to enhance the resilience and efficiency of the distribution system to prepare and respond to broad electrification.

Laurie has over 15 years of industry experience in progressively senior leadership roles, ranging from continuous improvement, business development, engineering, and asset management.

Laurie holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Carleton University.

Alex Kemp

Vice President, System Operations and Program Execution

Alex

As Vice President, System Operations and Program Execution, Alex is responsible for the real-time operation, emergency preparedness, and capital program execution of our electrical power distribution system. In his role, Alex leads a team directly accountable for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable delivery of electricity to Hydro Ottawa customers.

Alex has over 18 years of electric utility industry experience in progressive leadership and technical roles across both distribution and transmission operations. Prior to his senior leadership roles at Hydro Ottawa, he spent several years at Hydro One Networks Inc. managing grid operations and station services, where he specialized in operational excellence, crisis management, and safety leadership.

Alex holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology.

Andrew Rose

Vice President, Generation

Andrew

As Vice President, Generation, Andrew is responsible for the operational management of Portage Power’s existing fleet of generation assets, as well as the formulation and execution of its strategic growth initiatives. In this role, he leads a development team accountable for the delivery of renewable energy and energy storage projects from early-stage development through to execution and long-term ownership.

Andrew brings over a decade of progressive leadership and corporate banking experience to his role. Having served as a trusted advisor to many of North America’s leading independent power producers, he has a strong track record of success in the structuring and execution of financings for renewable generation assets.

Andrew holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from McMaster University.
