Past progress. Future powered.
The Hydro Ottawa Group’s 2025 Annual Report marks the successful conclusion of its 2021-2025 Strategic Direction, capping off a five-year period of profound organizational transformation. Despite a dynamic business environment, the company’s core business lines—including electricity distribution, renewable generation, energy solutions, and telecommunications—performed exceptionally well. The organization generated over $395 million in revenue and $35.4 million in consolidated net income. This strong financial performance yielded a $22.1 million dividend for its sole shareholder, the City of Ottawa, bringing cumulative dividends paid to the city to over $413 million since 2005.
In addition to solid financial results, 2025 was defined by a record-breaking commitment to both infrastructure and sustainability. Hydro Ottawa executed its largest-ever grid investment program, directing nearly $190 million toward replacing aging infrastructure, bolstering system capacity, and connecting new customers. This historic investment helped maintain a best-in-class service reliability rate of 99.97%. The year also featured significant strides in the company’s net-zero transition, including establishing an 800-megawatt pipeline of solar and battery storage projects, supporting the City of Ottawa’s Zero Emission Bus initiative, and achieving a major safety milestone of 1.5 million work hours without a lost-time injury. Together, these achievements lay a resilient foundation for the company’s newly launched 2026-2030 Strategic Direction.
